Volunteering Conference organised by Sports Volunteering Northwest

Sport England have officially confirmed their support of the 2008 "Hands Up for Sports Volunteering" Conference organised by Sports Volunteering Northwest.

As the governments major fund provider, Sport England take a keen and active role in supporting volunteering programmes and strive to ensure quality opportunites for all young people within sport.

When asked about the conference, Sport England Regional Director Stewart Kellett had this to say;

‘All of us working in the sector know that sport relies on the wonderful dedication and work of England’s 5.8million volunteers, week in and week out'.

‘The vital time that volunteers give to supporting projects and clubs and enabling more people to get into sport is worth a total of £14 billion. But more than; volunteers are the are the lifeblood of sport, without which sport simply couldn’t happen'.

‘Sport England is delighted to be continuing our support for the ‘Hands up for Sports Volunteering’ conference, which will again be celebrating and supporting the North West’s army of young volunteers’
